Estienne's Greek texts (with facing Latin translations) are taken primarily from Plutarch and Diogenes Laertius, both of whose texts he was then preparing ... This is the last book in which Henri Estienne styles himself 'Viri Huldrichi Fuggeri typographus'." (Schreiber). - Zu Anfang und gegen Ende wasserrandig, Druckermarke alt ankolor., im letzten Viertel mit winzigen Marginalien von zeitgenöss. Hand (etw. beschnitten). Insgesamt gutes Exemplar in einem dekorativen Dentelle-Einband. - Gest. gekröntes Wappen-Exlibris "Antoine de Mainy".
First edition. With woodcut printer's device on title. Early 18th cent. red morocco, spine and boards richly gilt decorated à la dentelle. - Beginning and end waterstained, device partly coloured by old hand, last quarter with tiny marginalia by a contemp. hand (somewhat trimmed). Good copy in a very fine binding. Engr. armorial bookplate.
