Waldlandschaft mit Rehen. Um 1890.
Good overall impression. Slightly rubbed in the margin, due to the framing. Canvas minimally wavy in upper right. With slight scratch in the lower rigth margin, there with small colour loss.
Oil on canvas.
Signed lower right. Signed once more, inscribed "Düsseldorf" and with the work number "647" on verso. 80 : 110 cm (31,4 : 43,3 in). The Düsseldorf landscape painter Heinrich Böhmer completes his training in art at the Düsseldorf Academy, among others as master student of Eugène Dücker. Motifs from the Harz-, the Eifel-, and the Odenwald mountains count among his favourites, depicting their sylvan and potamic landscapes in studies executed in front of nature. Our work exemplifies Böhmer’s poise in achieving atmospheric effects with harmonized colouring. [NB]
