After completing locksmith training, Gerd Dehof was drafted for military service and returned severely injured in 1944. As a student of Carl Trummer he was set on a path of artistic passion. He was co-founder of the ‘Freie Akademie Mannheim‘, from which the later ‘Fachhochschule für Gestaltung‘ [University of Applied Science]. As of 1957 he was head of the sculpting clas at the ‘Freie Akademie Mannheim‘. [EH].
