The striking physicality of this standing female nude is remarkable. It is a document originating from Christian Rohlf's artistic peak. The expressive array of forms of this mixed media work can be well observed both in the graphic outline as well as in the pictorial arrangement. A style that Christian Rohlfs shared with his artist colleagues of these days. The nude, which occupies a large part of the composition, is framed by a scene that does not hint at any spatial allocation. The drawing's dynamic duct determines an expression that is quite bold as far as the directness of stylistic means is concerned. The work is geared at the most distinguished works of Expressionism, however, without running danger of being a mere copy. No matter how close Christian Rohlfs was to the expressionists, he always remained true to himself. His way of seeing things is unique and unmistakable.
