The plate belongs to a sequence of drawings, which were painted in Weissig near Dresden in spring 1908. The same year Nolde created similar etchings with dancing couples in an inn's hall. [RS]
Brush and India ink and reed pen drawing, washed.
Signed lower right. On fine Japon laid paper. 20,6 : 30,9 cm (8,1 : 12,1 in), the full sheet.

PROVENIENZ: Private collection South Germany.
In good condition. Verso loosely mounted at points on backing board, partly negligibly pushing through. The margins with minor crease marks, partly probably due to studio work. With a few barely noticeable brown stains.
