• Made during Kirchner's first stay on the Stafelalp (Davos).
• Extremely detailed and very elaborately designed composition.
• One of only six known copies of the first printing state, one of which is lost (catalog raisonné Gercken), one is in the National Gallery of Art in Washington and one in the Staatliche Kunsthalle Karlsruhe.
