Berlin, 2 December, 2015 (kk) - A Stuttgart artist teaches us amazement. With her very own aesthetic and innovative means, she explores new artistic realms in which light occupies a central role. The internationally acclaimed artist rosalie takes us to a magic world. As of 17 December around 60 of her works are on display at Ketterer Kunst in Berlin.
The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 2015 to be the "International Year of Light". rosalie, with a lower-case "r" and a large œuvre, did not only internalize this idea, but also externalized it. Her diverse works have already been referred to as "strokes of genius" and she has even been called "the Jackson Pollock of light". Indeed, whatever the award-winning artist and university teacher puts up is unique.
Since at least her scenic light-image-spaces that rosalie created for the Bayreuth Festival in the 1990s, she has been known to a wider audience. On an international level she has made productions for, among others, the NNTT New National Theatre Tokyo, Japan, as well as for the Biennial of Contemporary Art in Sevilla. Her latest project was a monumental installation for the Hamburg State Opera House.
At Ketterer Kunst in Berlin rosalie will now show a cross section of her works from the last decade. Next to kinetic light objects and works from plexiglass granules, a selection of frog sculptures are another highlight of the exhibition.
