Munich, 5 May, 2015 (kk) - Never before did a single auction offer so many works by ZERO artists. Now Ketterer Kunst will present the spectacular array of around 120 objects in its Munich auctions of Modern Classics / Post War Art / Contemporary Art from 11 - 13 June.

This offer even beats the seminal sale of 49 lots from the collection Lenz-Schönberg in February 2010, because the 120 works called up in the June auction, of which almost 100 are unique pieces and around 20 original graphic works, are far more than twice as many.

"After we realized a world record for a work by Günther Uecker and numerous top hammer prices for works by his fellow artists last year, I am looking forward to this coming auction with excitement and optimism", says Robert Ketterer, owner and managing director of Ketterer Kunst. He continues: "What makes me particularly happy is the fact that the triad Heinz Mack, Otto Piene and Günther Uecker is represented with more than 60 lots".

Indeed, Günther Uecker will enter the auction ring with almost a dozen works with estimates in six-digit realms. Next to a work without title from 1989 (estimate: € 220,000-260,000), particularly captivating for its rhythmic dynamics, the array is led by the two works "Hommage à Paul Scheerbart ("Scheerbartwesen")" and "Reihung weiß", both estimated at € 300,000-400,000.

While Otto Piene is represented with more than 20 lot numbers, among them his creation of oil, fire, smoke and pigment on canvas "Green Fire Flower" from 1963 (estimate: € 80,000-120,000), hearts of lovers of Heinz Mack's oeuvre will beat faster for four relief works from the 1960s with estimates between € 50,000 and € 80,000. In total he is also represented with more than 20 works.

Next to German ZERO representatives international artists such as Johannes Jan Schoonhoven and Enrico Castellani also make contributions. While the Dutchman created more than just a meditative moment with his large-size "Relief 72-73-M-14" from 1973 (estimate: € 150,000-200,000, the relief "Superficie bianca" (estimate: € 200,000-300,000) by the Italian brings about an air of magic with its charming interplay of light and shade.

The range of offerings is crowned by a work by Lucio Fontana, who made art history with his famous slit canvasses in the late 1950s. His "Concetto spaziale, Attesa" from 1960 counts among these early creations which are both sought-after on the international art market, as well as highlights in renowned public collections world-wide. It will enter the bidding race with an estimate of € 800,000-1,200,000.

Other important ZERO names are, among others, Bernard Aubertin, Rupprecht Geiger, Gotthard Graubner, Oskar Holweck, Adolf Luther, Piero Manzoni and Herbert Zangs.
