Berlin, 15 April 2015 (kk) - Gerhard Richter, Sigmar Polke and Andy Warhol – Angelika Platen knows them all. The acclaimed photo journalist and artist has been making portraits of internationally acclaimed visual artists for more than 40 years.

The protagonists of ZERO also felt quite comfortable in front of the lens of her camera. Next to original graphic works by renowned ZERO artists such as Gotthard Graubner, Adolf Luther, Heinz Mack, Günther Uecker and Herbert Zangs, around 40 silver gelatine impressions shot by Angelika Platen are currently on display at Ketterer Kunst in Berlin.

The artist photographer had been following the renovators of visual art – in their studios, galleries and their private spheres since the 1960s. When Heinz Mack, Otto Piene and Günther Uecker began to conquer the immaculate surface, she seized the opportunity to meet these artists and their colleagues in order pursue their working strategies with the camera. Now the silver gelatine impressions of the ZERO founding triad is accompanied by photo portraits of congenial artists like Arman, Gianni Colombo, Gotthard Graubner, Hans Haacke, Kaspar Thomas Lenk, Adolf Luther, Almir Mavignier, François Morellet, Jesus Rafael Soto, Daniel Spoerri and Herbert Zangs.
