Munich, 11 April, 2012, (kk) – With a special section in its auction of Modern Art and Post War/Contemporary Art on 9 June, Ketterer Kunst honors the works of renowned representatives of the New Leipzig School.

"The works are of a remarkably high quality and impress the observer through their complexity executed with artistic perfection", said Robert Ketterer. He continued: "Just a few artists are capable of combining aesthetics and cultural criticism with such great mastery".

Indeed, it is particularly David Schnell's work "Schneise" from 2000 that captivates the observer with a very peculiar scenery that unfolds its very own appeal in the interplay of naturalness and artificiality. An idyllic landscape characterized by a lusciously strong coloring, an impression that comes up at first sight, turns out to be a geometric grid of strictly arranged tree trunks at second sight. The estimate is at € 30.000-40.000.

Next to Tilo Baumgärtel's oil painting "Wagenburg" from 2002, which will be called up with an estimate of € 15.000-20.000, two works by Christoph Ruckhäberle will also add spice to the auction. While his work "Garten" from 2001 has been estimated at € 10.000-15.000, the oil painting "Sonnenschirm" from 2007 could be obtained for an estimate of € 9.000-12.000.

Other artists worthwhile mentioning are Miriam Vlaming (with her works "Weggefährten" and "Echoes of my footstep") as well as Thomas Sommer and his large-size (300 x 99,5 cm, 118.1 x 39.1 in) mixed media work "Atelier-Weltbild2 from 2003 with an estimate of € 4.000-6.000.

The special section is part of the auction of Post War/Contemporary Art. Highlights of this auction are a work by Serge Poliakoff without title (estimate: € 250.000-350.000) and an oil painting by Pierre Soulage (estimate: € 150.000-180.000), as well as works by Anselm Reyle (estimate: € 70.000-80.000) and Eberhard Havekost ("Zelte 1" and "Driver 2", estimate each € 40.000-60.000).
