Ketterer supports "Social Day"
Students give Hearts and Hands
Munich, 8 June 2011: They work so others can go to school. Andrea Heisse and Jana Reuther, who both attend the Munich state secondary school Pullach, worked for one day in the Munich auction house Ketterer Kunst and donated their entire salaries so young people in the Balkan States can go to school.
Andrea Heisse (14) and Jana Reuther (14) committed to the good cause. Their complete salaries of the "Social Day" were donated to the charity 'Schüler Helfen Leben e. V.'
They committed their time and money in context of the "Social Day", a nation-wide event of the charity organization 'Schüler Helfen Leben e.V.' on 8 June 2011, to educational projects in Southeastern Europe. The objective of the project is to make life for teenagers more worth living. The donations are used for teaching materials, heating and blackboards in Kosovo schools, as well as for summer camps with the objective to make for reconciliation between ethnic groups. Additionally, Macedonian street projects are also supported.
Andrea and Jana heard of the "Social Day" in school and were enthused about the idea right away: "I like art and I've always wanted to know what my mother does in her job", said Andrea, her mother Dr. Eva Heisse, works for Ketterer Kunst. So the student took the initiative and asked whether she and a friend could spend their "Social Day" in the auction house. Jana was also looking forward to the job: "The perfect combination of working for a good cause and school day off".
Robert Ketterer, auctioneer and owner of Ketterer Kunst, also feels very positive about the "Social Day". "I have always been a big supporter of projects from which both sides can benefit: Young people gain new insights and can perhaps find new perspectives for a later profession. They work for a good cause with commitment, and this is something I value from the perspective of a businessman, as I also gain insight into how young people feel and think. And I can make contacts for future times. Last but not least, the charity project will benefit from our common efforts".
