Picasso’s captivating verve for just € 650
22 August 07 (aabykk) - "Verve", meaning "fire" or "wit" is the title of the magazine subtitled
"Couleur de Picasso" which is to be sold online with other rare books at the Rare Books auction held
by art.auctions by Ketterer Kunst on 8 September 2007. Lavishly illustrated, this appealing work boasts
a dedication by the artist in his own hand and could be a real bargain at an estimated € 650.
A total of some 160 books, including art monographs, cookery books and classics of modern literature,
are to be sold at the auction and, considering how reasonably priced they are - all estimates are
below € 1.000 - there is sure to be something to everybody’s taste. Particularly exciting to
anticipate are a star atlas with transparent maps of the heavens by Friedrich Braun and
HAP Grieshaber’s "Totentanz von Basel" ["Basel Dance of Death"].
Since they were inaugurated in September 2006, the live online auctions by art auctions by Ketterer Kunst
have captivated not just antiques dealers and collectors from Germany but also from abroad. The latter
particularly appreciate the convenience of being able to take part online.
The "Great names at affordable prices" concept, moreover, is a hit with a young public that has all the
enthusiasm but rarely the financial wherewithal for collecting rare books, manuscripts or autographs.
All objects are shown as from now at www.kettererkunst.com at "Rare Books - September 08, 2007 - Catalogue".
Bids in writing can already be entered here under the detail views via "place bids".
Pre-sale viewings of the objects are scheduled for 3-7 September 2007 at 11 am to 5 pm each day at Ketterer Kunst, 1 Meßberg, Hamburg.
art.auctions by Ketterer Kunst is part of the Ketterer Kunst Network.

9th-Century Art /Marine Art and
Rare Books - Autographs - Manuscripts - Decorative Prints
as well as Modern Art & Post War, with a focus on works on paper.
