Die Ausgabe basiert auf der zweiten, 1518 in Basel bei Froben gedruckten Auflage von Erasmus von Rotterdams wichtiger griechischer Bibelausgabe. "While Erasmus was preparing his first Greek Testament [1516], N. Gerbelius .. wrote to him in 1515, urging that the Greek text should be printed separately for convenience .. It has been suggested by some writers that Luther used a copy of this book when translating the N. T. into German." - Fehlen zu Beginn 3 Bll. latein. Vorwort von N. Gerbellius. With 31 large fig. woodcut initials with borders, printed in red and black. 18th cent. calf with new endpapers. - Lacking 3 ll. in the beginning (foreword by N. Gerbellius). Slightly stained, about 8 ll. browned, in the beginning with small rebacked cutouts to margins (erasing old marginalia). Binding scraped, spine with small piece missing.
