Due to his difficult financial situation, Höckner had to cut back on expenses for canvases and expensive painting equipment and therefore had to confine himself to smaller formats, which are predominant in the artist's oevre. However, the present imposing winter landscape shows that Höckner's talent shines through even on larger formats. [MD]
