Kraker 515. Bottom left signed and dated, presumably by a hand other than that of the artist. With the monogram in ligature in red pen, the number "41" and the insription "fette schwache Damarisolierung 12.31" on the reverse. 58.5 x 54 cm (23 x 21.2 in).
The painting is registered under number 41 in the artist's hand-written work list in the Archive Arlbert Birkle. [AM].
• Striking portrait of the art trader Victor Hartberg. Birkle had his first exhibition at the Berlin gallery in 1932.
• Depiction in the artist's characteristic immediacy.
