• Lyrical sea watercolor made in St. Peter on the North Sea coast in 1946.
• Family-owned for more than 50 years.
Accompanied by a photo expertise from Prof. Dr. Manfred Reuther, former director of the Foundation Ada and Emil Nolde, Klockries, from October 10, 2020. The work is registered in his archive with the number "Nolde A - 182/2020".
PROVENANCE: Private collection Bavaria (family-owned since 1965).
EXHIBITION: Emil Nolde, Marlborough Fin Art, London, February - March 1964, cat. no. 39, (with a label on the reverse. Label titled: Dunkler Abendhimmel, in catalog: Dark Evening Sky).
