• Münter portrayed mainly women, of which many came from her circle of friends.
• Gabriele Münter's portraits are in renowned international museums, among them the Lenbachhaus, Munich, the Schloßmuseum Murnau, the Des Moines Art Center, Iowa or the Milwaukee Art Museum
