• Paul Baum is one of the most important Neo-Impressionists in Germany, supported by Paul Cassirer.
• This early landscapes, influenced by a pointillist style, was created after the encounter with the art of Camille Pissarro and Théo van Rysselberghe.
• Characteristic motif of the river landscape with pollard willows, formative for his work from 1895 after Baum had settled in St. Anna-ter-Muiden in the Netherlands.
• Works by Paul Baum can be found in the Albertinum - Gemäldegalerie Neue Meister, Dresden, the Alte Nationalgalerie Berlin and the Wallraff-Richartz Museum in Cologne.
