Ceramics. Clay, white sherd with engobe- and paraffin painting as well as scratch decor on white enamel ground.
Ramié 248. Base with scratched number and inscriptions "Edition Picasso" and "Madoura". From an edition of 100 copies. Height: 43.5 cm (17.1 in). [SM].

• Between 1948 and 1971 he created an extensive ceramic oeuvre, which in its diversity and abundance reveals Picasso's wealth of ideas to a wide audience.
• The original ceramics, original casts and series of Picasso's works are firmly associated with the name of the workshop "Madoura".
• The reference to ancient forms is unmistakable
