• Trained in typography at the Städelschule in Frankfurt, Rolf Cavael dedicates his art to the non-representational from the very beginning on.
• Cavael naturally received recognition from artists such as Willi Baumeister, Rupprecht Geiger and others around ZEN 49, with whom he exhibited in Munich in 1949.
• Contrapuntally set lines show a clear reference to music.
