Multiple . Silkscreen on plexiglass over silkscreen on panel.
Verso signed. From an edition of 100 copies. 50 x 50 x 25 cm (19.6 x 19.6 x 9.8 in).
After its first release in Edition MAT in 1959, the edition's second part, among which this work counts, was published by Edition Seriaal, Amsterdam in 1969 (with the edition's information sheet).
Other copies are in the collection of the Kaiser Wilhelm Museums in Krefeld and the Museum Am Ostwall in Dortmund.
"La spirale" is the artist's first multiple, which introduced a period during which he created a large number of serial works, back then an entirely new form of art.

Private collection Southern Germany (acquired from aforementioned in 1976).
