The portrait of a flute payer sitting at the window and in French Rococo dress is inscribed "Paris" and was made during Gotthardt Kühl's stay in the French art metropolis from 1878 to 1889. The modern tendencies of art, predominantly of Impressionism, had decisive influence on Kühl's art. [FS]
