Johann Mutter, born in Geretshausen on 7 March, 1902, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich from 1927 to 1934. Among others, he was student of Hermann Groeber and Karl Caspar. This charming still life is particularly impressive for its composition and the strong colors, that Mutter emphasizes even more by means of the black contour lines. [KH].
