We are grateful to Dr. Ulrich Schumacher, Hagen, for his kind help in cataloging this lot. The work will be included into the forthcoming catalogue under the inventory number 0/4.524.
The contrast between construction and destruction, between building and destroying is decisive for Schumacher‘s work for a long period of time. By means of the examination of figurative elements, the artist began new paths in his late work. In a calm and loose composure and with a reserved dynamic, Emil Schumacher wanted to reestablish an elementary experience through experiencing nature. A concern that was prevailing throughout his entire artistic creation. [EH].
