Signed and dated in the lower left corner. Also signed, dated, and titled “Stillleben” (Still Life) on the reverse, along with the dimensions. 70.9 x 72.3 cm (27.9 x 28.4 in). [KA].
• Rudolf Ausleger is best known for his sophisticated still life motifs.
• In 1920, the artist became a member of the renowned “November” artists' group.
• Part of an important private collection in Berlin for almost 50 years.
PROVENANCE: Ulrich Gronert art dealer, Berlin.
Private collection, Berlin (acquired from the aboive in 1977).
In good condition. Occasional tiny, expertly executed retouching, slightly more prevalent at the edges of the picture due to framing. Craquelure in places. The canvas is slightly uneven in the upper part of the picture. The condition report was prepared in daylight and with the aid of a UV light source to the best of our knowledge and belief.
