On the back of the plinth with the monogram in ligature and the numbering, as well as with the foundry mark of “Cire C. Valsuani Perdue”. Copy 3 of 6. Height: 29.5 cm (11.6 in). Base: 1,8 x 18,8 x 16,2 cm (0,7 x 7,4 x 6,3 in).

• Compact, harmonious composition with sensual, rounded, and minimalist forms.
• The depiction of the female body plays an absolute key role in Henri Laurens' entire artistic oeuvre.
• In 1951, the year this bronze was created, the Musée National d'Art Moderne in Paris dedicated a major retrospective to him.
• His voluminous, expressive sculptures have had a formative influence on modern art as a whole, today can be found in renowned museum collections around the world, including the Kunstmuseum Basel, the Tate Gallery in London, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
