• Works from around 1915–1925, in which he depicts women with French lightness and American elegance, are among Cucuels' most sought-after paintings.
• The painting combines all the characteristic elements of late Impressionism: feminine grace, sophisticated leisure activities, and delicate color modulations in the interplay of sun and water.
• Created on the shores of Lake Starnberg, where the artist owned a house, a preferred motif of Cucuel.
