Signed, dated, titled and inscribed “Handdruck für die Freunde der Kunstakademie gedruckt 16/25 m”. One of just a few copies. On yellowish wove paper. 32.2 x 42.2 cm (12.6 x 16.6 in). Sheet: 46,1 x 68,9 cm (18,1 x 27,1 in).

• Cows a re a key motif in Ewald Mataré's oeuvre.
• Made on Wangerooge in 1920, where he bmade first explorations in woodcut art.
PROVENANCE: Private collection, North Rhine-Westphalia (gifted by the family in 2002).

In good condition. Slightly sunned. A vertical fold (approx. 5 cm) in the center of the upper margin and a slight crease in the lower right margin. The top of the lower margin is slightly wavy and creased due to the printing process.
