Signed (barely legible) upper right. Dated, titled, inscribed “G 6.” and “U” lower center on the original backing board. 30 x 21 cm (11.8 x 8.2 in), the full sheet. Backing board: 44,8 x 29,1 cm (17,6 x 11,4 in).

• Exceptional use of forms in bold colors.
• The geometrically reduced and subtly harmonized composition is a pictorial reflection of Klee's love of music.
• As one of the most important Expressionists, Paul Klee drew on his memories and associations to create subtle color structures and whimsical drawings.
• Exhibited at Galerie Dietrich in Brussels in 1938, the year it was painted.
Accompanied by a written confirmation of authenticity from Dr. Jürgen Glaesemer, Paul Klee Foundation, Kunstmuseum Bern, from December 2, 1986 (copy).
