Zweite Ausgabe (EA 1541 in Straßburg). "The tract of Albertus Magnus belongs to the authentic writings of this author. Thorndike devotes much space to a thorough analysis of this remarkable work and points out the stress laid by Albertus on personal investigation and experiment" (Duveen). - Die Holzschnitte zeigen chemische Gefäße, einen Ofen etc.
EINBAND: Blindgeprägter Lederband um 1900. 8vo. 16 : 11 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit 8 (1 ganzseitig) Textholzschnitten und Holzschnitt-Druckermarke am Ende. - KOLLATION: 324 S., 4 Bll. - ZUSTAND: Erste Bll. mit wenigen kl. Wurmspuren, Titel und S. 7 mit rasiertem Stempel. Einbd. gering berieben, Ecken leicht bestoßen (1 Ecke ausgebessert). Gutes Exemplar. - PROVENIENZ: Exlibris des britischen Mediävisten Robert Steele (1860-1944). - Wappenexlibris der Königl. Blindtooled calf around 1900. - First leaves with few womrholes, title and p. 7 with erased stamp. Binding slightly rubbed and bumped (1 corner repaired). In general good copy. - Bookplate Robert Steele and color armorial bookplate by Otto Hupp for the "Königl. Württembergischen Hofbibliothek". From the library of the Bonn geologist and palaeontologist Prof. Dr Wolfhart Langer (1933-2017).
