"Basically, they [her large metal sculptures] are rooted in the technique that I discovered for myself back in the Rhineland. Only now I take liquid plaster and use it to draw shapes that are about the size of a sheet of paper. The shapes that turned out well were initially templates for small wooden sculptures. But then I wanted to see what they looked like in large size. I knew someone who worked with metal and he recreated them for me out of aluminum. Now we do it ourselves, in my workshop in Phoenix."
