Vollständiges Grundwerk der Monographie über die Schmetterlinge Frankreichs.
Erste Ausgabe. - In diesem Umfang sehr selten, es fehlen lediglich die 4 Supplemente. Das Werk wurde 1820 von E. R. Genouville unter dem Titel Histoire naturelle des lépidoptères des environs de Paris begonnen, dann jedoch von Godart (mit neuen Tafeln) neu herausgegeben und fortgesetzt. Nach Godarts Tod übernahm ab Band IV P. A. J. Duponchel die Herausgabe.
EINBAND: Halbmaroquinbände der Zeit mit goldgeprägtem Rückentitel. 21 : 14 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit 393 Kupfertafeln (351 koloriert). - ZUSTAND: Stockfleckig, Tafeln gebräunt. Kanten berieben, Rücken leicht verfärbt.
LITERATUR: Nissen 1598. - Horn/Schenkling 5622 (unter Duponchel): "Sehr selten". - Agassiz III, 72.
Dabei: 20 lose kolorierte Kupfertafeln aus Band I sowie Dublette von Band III mit 12 kolorierten Kupfertafeln.

Contemp. half morocco with gilt title on spine. - Foxed, plates somewhat tanned. Edges rubbed, spines slightly discolored. - And: 20 loose col. engr. plates from vol. I and a duplicate copy of vol. III with 12 col. engr. plates.
