Dupin/Lelong-Mainaud 4726. Bottom right signed. Dated "2.V.79", titled and inscribed by a hand other than that of the artist on the reverse. On firm wove paper. 32.6 x 44.3 cm (12.8 x 17.4 in), the full sheet. [CH].

• Phantastic dreamy composition with the characteristic interrelation between biomorphic abstraction and figuration.
• Other drawings from the 1970s can be found in acclaimed international collection like the Centre Pompidou, Paris, the Museo Reina Sofía, Madrid, and the Harvard Art Museums, Cambridge (MA).
• The monumental glass mosaic "Personnages Oiseaux" (1977/78) with a very similar motif can be found on the premises of the Ulrich Museum of Art, Wichita/USA.
• Drawings play a key role in the artist's later period of creation: In 1978 the Musée National d'Art Moderne, Paris, honored this body of works in a grand exhibition.
