Signed in lower right, inscribed "A.g.r" in left center of image. Stretcher inscribed "Bolz. Paris. 19 Rue Daguerre". 61 x 50 cm (24 x 19.6 in).
• Wonderful work from the small but high-quality oeuvre of the rediscovered Rhenish Expressionist Hanns Bolz.
• Bolz's paintings were exhibited at the leading avant-garde galleries of Alfred Flechtheim in Düsseldorf and Hans Goltz in Munich, and were also shown at Herwarth Walden's legendary "Erster Deutscher Herbst Salon" (1913) in Berlin.
• As the artist had destroyed some of his works before his early death and had also stipulated the destruction of other works in his will, only a few works have survived.
• To date only 14 further paintings by the artist have been offered on the international auction market (www.artnet.de). .
Accompanied by an expertise issued by Mr Ernst Cremer, Aachen, from October 2009 (in copy).
The painting is listed Erich Kukie's catalog raisonné with the number 023.
PROVENANCE: Possibly from the artist's estate.
