Upper left monogrammed (in ligature) and dated as well as inscribed "101" in bottom left. On thin Japon. 33 x 34.4 cm (12.9 x 13.5 in), size of sheet. [CH].
• Part of a German private collection for more than 35 years.
• Pechstein manages to capture the essence of the female nude with a few poised lines.
• The depicted lady's elegant open posture resembles the posture in the paintings ("Frauen am Wasser" and "Akt auf Teppich", Soika 1914/13 and 1914/14) from the same year.
PROVENANCE: Private collection Southern Germany (since 1984, Galerie Wolfgang Ketterer, May 29, 1984; lot no. 1066).
