Verso signed, dated "1990-91" and titled. 130 x 100 cm (51.1 x 39.3 in).
• Rare high-contrast composition, which is characterized by bright red, green and blue colored areas on a dark, earthen background
• Kirkeby's paintings can be found in the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Center Pompidou, Paris, the Statens Museum for Kunst, Copenhagen, and the Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich
• The artist had solo exhibitions at, among others, Museum Ludwig, Cologne, Tate Modern, London, Museum Kunstpalast, Düsseldorf, Museum Küppersmühle, Duisburg, and at Museum Insel Hombroich.
PROVENANCE: Galerie Michael Werner, Cologne (with the label on the stretcher, there with the registration number PK 576/C).
