Der sechste Band aus der zehnbändigen Prachtausgabe. An dem Gesamtwerk waren über 80 Zeichner und Stecher beteiligt, verantwortlich für die Vorlagen und die Kolorierung war F. N. Martinet, für die Ausführung E. L. Daubenton. "This edition was certainly the most ambitious and comprehensive bird book which had appeared at the time of its publication, and ranks still as one of the most important of all bird books from the Collector's point of view" (Sitwell/Buchanan).
EINBAND: Gesprenkelter Kalblederband der Zeit mit reicher Rückenvergoldung, 2 Rückenschildern, dreifachen Deckelfileten, Steh- und Innenkantenvergoldung sowie Ganzgoldschnitt. 33,5 : 23,5 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit 102 kolorierten Kupfertafeln auf bläulichem Büttenpapier. - KOLLATION: XII, 582 S., 1 Bl. - ZUSTAND: Stellenw. leicht wasserrandig. Deckel tls. beschabt, Rücken am unt. Kap. lädiert, VGelenk mit kl. Einriß. - PROVENIENZ: Exlibris Eckhard Günther.
