• Made during Mattheuer‘s first trip through Hungary in 1959
• For the first time offered on the auction market
• Part of a Saxonian private collection since it was made
• In 2007 the Leipzig Museum of Fine Arts dedicated an exhibiton to Mattheuer‘s landscapes
• His landscapes reveal the famous artist representative of the Leipzig School as a late heir of German Romanticism.
The work will be included into the digital catlog raisonné with the number 59/36 and will be published in the next extended edition of the catalog raisonné. We are grateful to Galerie Schwind for the kind support in cataloging this lot.

Private collection Saxony (inherited from aforementioned).
