"I felt an ice-cold shiver. [..] Soundless like a specter, the head lowered, with hanging flews - I can see it all very clearly now -, he sidled along the reed down to the river. Then he crouched down and quenched his thirst. I could hear the sound of him gobbling and drooling. And his thirst was tremendous! Then he paused, and peeked in my diretcion. Did he notice me? Impossible! - I held my breath and indulged in the sight of this truly majestic animal."
