Center of bottom of base inscribed "Franz von Stuck" and titled "Phryne" in center of base. 51.8 x 19.3 x 10.9 cm (20.3 x 7.5 x 4.2 in).
Cast by Cosmas Leyrer, München (verso on bottom of base with the foundry mark).This sculpture is one of the few sculptures with a floor plate below the cubical base.

PROVENANCE: Mary Stuck, the artisr's daughter.
Wedding gift to her niece in 1928.
Ever since in possession of the family.
