Duthuit-Matisse 444. Signed, numbered and inscribed "ep. d’artiste". One of ten artist proofs aside from the edition of 50 copies. On firm creme Japon. 37.6 x 27.6 cm (14.8 x 10.8 in). Sheet: 47,8 x 32,8 cm (18,8 x 12,9 in).
Other copies of this lithograph are in possession of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the Baltimore Museum of Art. Matisse also used the motif of a lady of the harem standing at a window in the oil painting "Odalisque près de la fenêtre" from the same year. [CH].
In a very good state of preservation.
Another copy is in possession of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
The painting "Odalisque près de la fenêtre" (1924) shows a very similar motif.
