Loggie di Rafaele nel Vaticano. Teile 2 und 3 (von 3) in einem Band. Rom (1776-)1777.

Erste Ausgabe des zweiten und dritten Teils der großformatigen Tafelfolge, die nach den berühmten, von Raffael gestalteten Wanddekorationen des Vatikans entstand.

Die nach Vorzeichnungen von P. Camporesi, G. Savorelli und L. Teseo gefertigten, prachtvollen Tafeln wurden von G. Valpato (1733-1803) und G. Ottaviani (um 1735-1808) gestochen. Die beiden vorliegenden Teile zeigen 12 detailreiche Pilaster (jew. von 2 Platten) und 13 bogenförmige Wand- und Deckenverzierungen der Loggien mit floralen, figürlichen und architektonischen Motiven.

EINBAND: Halblederband der Zeit (Rücken und Gelenke erneuert). 74,5 : 53 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Gestochener Titel (st. 2) mit breiter Bordüre und 25 gefaltete Kupfertafeln. - ZUSTAND: Ohne den Kupfertitel zum zweiten Teil. - Stockfl. (meist im Randbereich), 13 Taf. mit Wasserrand in der ob. rechten Ecke, vereinz. braunfleckig bzw. leimschattig, 12 Taf. im Falz mit Lwd. verstärkt, 3 Taf. mit hinterl. Randeinriß, 4 Taf. mit kl. Randläsuren. Einbd. beschabt und bestoßen, Rücken erneuert. - Gute Folge auf kräftigem Bütten.

Engr. title (of 2) with broad border and 25 folding copper plates. Contemp. half calf (spine and joints new). - Partly printed from two plates and mounted. Foxed mostly in the margins, 13 plates with waterstain in upper right corner, few brown stains (mostly by glue), 12 plates reinforced in the gutter with cloth, 3 plates with backed marginal tear, 4 plates with small marginal defects. Binding scraped and bumped, spine renewed. - Good copy on strong paper.(R)
