Verso monogrammed and dated "MWB 1807". With several old labels with hand-written numbers and inscriptions on the stretcher. 49.2 x 66.3 cm (19.3 x 26.1 in).
Original frame (verso with artist label "Max Jos./ Wagenbauer/ Inspector/ der k. b. Central Gemälde Gallerie". [FS].
PROVENANCE: Up to ca. 1815 presumably still in possession of the artist? (cf. artist label, inspector of Gemäldegalerie from 1815).
Galerie Zinckgraf, Munich (verso with the gallery label, went by the name as of 1941).
Mauerbach Benefit Sale, Christie's, Vienna, auction on Oktober 29, 1996, lot 209 (with illu.).
