"The things I paint don't exist on photos, they just supply me with bits of inspiration for my paintings, without them i couldn't depict the individual elements with the desired precision. Based on these models, I eventually find my motifs only during the process of painting, they form over a longer period of time. Art is about creating doubt, about something the artist hans't really graped yet, either. That's my motivation. Artworks give hold, but the hold vanishes once you try to fathom the work.“
