Links unten monogrammiert and with barely legible signature and date. On board. 36 x 30.7 cm (14.1 x 12 in) , the full sheet.
The drawings served as model for the illustration on the title page of the magazine Simplicissimus, 2nd year, no. 37, 11 December 1897. In the magazine the caricature is inscribed with the following line (transl.): "The kind-hearted monarch left his palace in bourgeois clothes, accompanied by just a few servants, in order gain, incognito, insight into the the hearts of his subjects.".
