"Spitzweg's experience as apothecary and pharmacist in Upper Bavaria coined him as a painter (artist), because the nature of the peasants' cultures gave him decisive factors during those years. The target is an object of utility, a cultural object of a sociological encounter between language, religion, art, education, morals, opinions - creating an accumulative effect, a cumulative force of mutual understanding."
