Graubner tried out new ways of paint application in the early 1960s. Initially in watercolor technique, later also on canvas. By applying the paint in many layers and steps, he explores the limits of the image border. To him paint is not just a means to an end, instead he puts its materiality in the foreground. In his works Graubner explores a sphere of the color that is usually supplemented by a second, more unobtrusive colors. In this work the dominant nuances of turquois, stimulated by subtle rose parts, make for a slight tension despite all harmony of colors.
