Ed Moses has a stromg interest on experimenting with material. He showed works at documenta 5 which strongly resemble this work. With these works, for which he uses polyester resin, he draws the attention to the process of creation and its highly coincidental charcter. He sets a counterpoint to the immaculate and smooth plastic artworks by his contemporaries.
