The lavish and dense line is characteristic of the early drawings in which, apart from the composition's closeness, the academic training can be observed. Even though he follows an open concept of form and color, this drawing shows elements of a traditional composition. The almost pictorial approach, underlined by the color accents, is an expression of a holistic image conception that Kirchner gave up later in order to turn to a style that is characterized by the line's graphic element only.
