PROVENANCE: Private collection Agnes Hesse, neé Thiersch, Leipzig (1863-1954). Sister of Justus Thiersch (1859-1937), who married Maria von Hofmann, the artist's sister (born in. 1865), in 1888.
Ever since in family possession Leipzig/Saarbrücken/North Rhine-Wetsphalia (verso with ownership label of Prof. Dr. med. Fritz Hesse (1897-1980), son of aforementioned).

EXHIBITION: Kunstausstellung Kühl, Dresden, no date (presumably January/February 1936; verso with label).
